What is UZEDY?
UZEDY is an FDA-approved, long-acting injectable (LAI) form of risperidone used to treat schizophrenia in adults.
Instead of taking a pill every day to help treat your schizophrenia symptoms, with UZEDY, you get 1 injection every 1 or 2 months. A doctor or nurse will give your injection of UZEDY in a healthcare center. You and your healthcare provider can discuss which dosing schedule is right for you.
What is a long-acting injectable (LAI)?
A long-acting injectable—or LAI—is a type of medicine that’s injected into your body and releases slowly over time.
What are the most common side effects with UZEDY for schizophrenia?
The side effect profile of UZEDY is expected to be similar to that of comparable oral risperidone doses.
Injection site reactions including a lump or itching were reported with UZEDY.
Please see additional Important Safety Information below.
Am I a good candidate for UZEDY?
Talk to your doctor to see if UZEDY may be right for you. Before you start UZEDY, you’ll need to ensure you can tolerate risperidone. This means you may take risperidone pills before getting your first injection.
UZEDY may be an option for you if:
What is the difference between 1- and 2-month dosing?
If you get an injection once a month, you’ll have 12 appointments per year. If you get an injection every 2 months, you’ll only have 6 appointments per year.
UZEDY allows for a flexible dosing schedule. For example, if you normally get an injection once a month, you can switch to once every 2 months at any time—and switch back if once-monthly UZEDY is a better fit for you. You and your healthcare provider can discuss what’s best for you.
How much does UZEDY cost?
Each insurance policy is different, and the cost of UZEDY depends on your plan. Teva Total Support™ is here to help you start and stay on the treatment you need. We provide support to you and your caregiver every step of the way, from confirming your insurance coverage to figuring out financial assistance options and connecting you with one of our nurses. If you have questions, you can call to talk to a nurse or enroll for personalized answers. With the Savings Offer for UZEDY, eligible patients may pay as little as $0 per dose.* Call 1-800-887-8100 (Monday-Friday, 9 AM-8 PM ET) to find out if you’re eligible for financial assistance.
